McDonald’s Big News: Spicy Breakfast Sandwiches & Snack Wraps Are Back!

A wide shot shows a large, diverse crowd of happy people gathered in front of a McDonald's restaurant. On a raised stage, a person is making an announcement, and a large banner with the McDonald's logo and a hamburger graphic hangs above them. The sun is shining, casting a cheerful glow on the scene

July 8, 2025 — McDonald’s just made one of its boldest announcements in years. From heating up breakfast to reviving an all-time fan favorite, the fast-food chain is shaking things up across its U.S. menu.

A Spicy Twist on Breakfast

To celebrate 50 years of the Egg McMuffin, McDonald’s is introducing a spicy version of the iconic sandwich. Starting today, customers can grab a Spicy Egg McMuffin, or choose from two other spicy options featuring sausage.

Each sandwich includes McDonald’s new Spicy Pepper Sauce, adding a flavorful kick to the traditional morning meal. The idea is to satisfy growing cravings for heat, especially among younger customers who are steering toward bold, adventurous flavors.

Snack Wraps Make a Comeback

If you've missed the Snack Wrap, you’re not alone. After years of customer requests and online buzz, McDonald’s is finally bringing it back — permanently.

Available nationwide starting July 10, the new Snack Wraps feature a crispy chicken strip, shredded lettuce, cheese, and your choice of creamy ranch or the same spicy sauce found in the new McMuffins. All wrapped in a soft flour tortilla, it’s an easy grab-and-go option for lunch, dinner, or anytime in between.

Why This Move Matters

Fast-food habits are changing. People want more flavor, more value, and faster service. McDonald’s is responding with options that check all those boxes. The timing is no accident — earlier this year, U.S. sales slipped, prompting the company to rethink its menu strategy.

The return of Snack Wraps and the introduction of spicy breakfast sandwiches are more than trends. They’re part of a larger plan to win back regulars, appeal to Gen Z and millennials, and compete with newer fast-casual options.

Even More Coming Soon

Later this month, McDonald’s will roll out limited-time desserts like the Blueberry & Crème Pie and a new S’mores McFlurry. On July 22, the Daily Double burger will also join the McValue lineup — giving customers more variety without stretching their wallet.

The Takeaway

With these updates, McDonald’s is blending old favorites with fresh twists — and keeping things affordable in the process. Whether you’re a loyal fan or a casual customer, this is a good time to revisit the Golden Arches.

Looking for something fast, flavorful, and familiar? McDonald’s new menu has something just for you.
